I read Dr. Supreme's book called, " Black God: An Introduction to the World's Religions and Their Black Gods." The words in that book blew my mind! So, I just took for granted that, "Knowledge of Self: A Collection of Wisdom on the Science of Everything in Life," would be along the same exact lines. Well, it was not. "Knowledge of Self," is a book of essays that focus on self-improvement and positivity for the black race. The material in the book is interesting. I was able to read this book within two days, so it was a quick read. It was written well, also.I have never heard of The Nation of Gods and Earth. Therefore, I am reading about a subject matter that I felt clueless about. Which is something I have done in the past. Normally, if I am about to expose my mind to new information I will research the topic before I begin to read the book.At times this book read along the lines of "The Secret, Law of Attraction, or Art of Manifestation."I rated this book with 3-stars because I did find nuggets of wisdom scattered throughout the book.Also, the books repeatedly points out that "the black man is God." The author is entitled to his opinion, but man is not God. God is eternal, infinite, unknown. No man can make a blanket statement about God. That part of the book was a complete turn-off. I was under the impression this book would delve into self-knowledge and provide spiritual principles on raising one's consciousness.If you are the type of person who is interested in The Nation of Gods and Earth or subject matter along those lines, this is definitely the book for you. I purchased this book in October of 2017 and it took me almost a year to consistently read it as I was digesting all the jewels and rabbit holes in this book. So many people dropped knowledge much needed for our people to hear!!! This book will broaden your awareness even if you're not looking to become a Five Percenter. It has certainly resonated with me. Read with an Open Mind!!! This book will give you insight to a lot of knowledge and you'll find out why the wool has been pulled over your eyes for so long. Your knowledge of self, your knowledge of sensible living is key to your advancement in life. You will not regret picking up this book!!! The only reason it took me so long to finish the book was because I was distracted and had to make time to read it.
